The Denver Police Department is investigating the death of a juvenile male near South Federal Boulevard and West Alameda Avenue as a homicide.
Police first notified the public of the death in a tweet just before 3 a.m. Saturday morning, following up at 4:10 a.m. to say officers are investigating the incident as a homicide.
There is no suspect information that investigators are comfortable releasing at this point, according to Denver Police spokesman John White.
“It’s probably fair to say that it is weapon-related, but I wasn’t given any specifics from my investigators, so at this point we’re just calling it a homicide,” White said Saturday afternoon, noting that it appears the incident took place in a McDonald’s parking lot.
