Sandra Navarro, 34, was taken into custody on Friday, according to an Aurora Police Department news release. She is being charged with two felonies — hit-and-run involving death and tampering with physical evidence.

A Medina Alert was issued Thursday, one day after a car hit and killed an elderly man on East Montview Boulevard at Elmira Street and fled the scene, police said.

A tip led police to the location of the vehicle, a silver 2002 Toyota Camry, near an auto body shop in the 1400 block of Ironton Street on Friday. The auto body shop cooperated throughout the investigation, police said.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the fatal crash, or has any information related to it, call Detective Steve Chinn at 303-739-6342.
