A bicyclist hit by a car Monday night in River North has died, Denver police tweeted.
The victim, an adult male, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit at the intersection of 38th Street and Brighton Boulevard.
Police are investigating the incident.
The death comes as the Denver cycling community has been rattled by a rash of recent accidents. Four bicyclists were killed on the Front Range in July, including two in Denver.
The number of cyclist deaths in 2018 were the most in Denver since 2013.
The cyclist community took to the streets this summer, protesting and advocating for safer biking conditions in Denver.
