Suspect wanted on felony warrant shot by police in Longmont hotel room

A man shot by police in a Longmont hotel room on Thursday afternoon was taken to a hospital.

The man who was shot has been arrested on a felony warrant, according to a news release from the 19th judicial critical incident response team.

The shooting unfolded just before 5 p.m., when a Weld County sheriff’s deputy on patrol near an Econolodge, 10811 W. I-25 Frontage Road, spotted a vehicle license plate associated with a wanted person, the release said.

The deputy requested assistance, and two Firestone police officers responded. The suspect, wanted on a felony warrant, was contacted in a hotel room, and shots were fired. No officers were injured.

No charges have been filed in the shooting. The name of the suspect, the deputy and the officers were not released. An investigation is ongoing.
