A local branch of the FBI and the Littleton Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed bank robber who allegedly targeted a bank twice in about a month.
The suspect first robbed the Great Western Bank at 200 W. Littleton Blvd. on June 22 and then allegedly hit the same bank again Friday, according to an FBI news release.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 white man about 40 to 50 years old with a medium build. During the first robbery, the man whore a green and white checkered shirt, white shorts and a “Make America Great Again” baseball hat, federal investigators said.
During the second robbery, the suspect wore a dark baseball hat, black shirt and white and gray camouflage shorts.
Each time, the suspect approached the teller, demanded money and fled. The suspect was armed with a handgun, investigators said.
“Be aware of anyone similar who might have recently changed their spending habits or discussed coming into money suddenly,” investigators said.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
