Man killed in shooting at Greeley apartment complex

A man was shot and killed early Saturday at an apartment complex in Greeley, and police are looking for a Latino suspect in his late teens.

After police were dispatched to a possible shooting about 12:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of 26th Avenue, police said, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was driven by ambulance to North Colorado Medical Center and was pronounced dead about 1:15 a.m.

Witnesses said some sort of dispute was heard near the entrance of the apartment complex and the victim was shot during the disturbance, police said. They said four or five other males about the same age were with the suspect at the time.

The name of the deceased has not been released by the Weld County coroner’s office.

Greeley Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect, victim or shooting to call 970-350-9600, 970-350-9676 or 970-351-5394.
